About Our Website

The Lazy Traveller is all about compromises. When you go away on holiday with friends or family, everyone has different wants or needs. You might want to relax on the beach with a margarita, your partner may want to go out shopping or sight seeing and the kids may want to do something else.

In my experience, it is the man of the house (me) who wants to relax, like a beached whale, ordering up frozen drinks and finger food while I survey the local landscape, either face up or face down. I am sure I can now tell how comfortable a beach bed is going to be from a mile away. That is if my eyesight were up to it.
Then it is my wife who wants to go out shopping, sight seeing and doing all the local excursions. Of course, lying on the beach contemplating my evergrowing stomach does not come into that equation. As to my kids, I believe 30 minutes was the record as to maximum time before I heard "I am bored, lets hire a boat, lets play tennis, lets go fishing".

So, we had a family powwow and reached a compromise. From then forth, we would do excursions one day and beach 'activities' the next. To be honest, I think I got the short end of the stick as 'activities' imply movement and I can't play beach volleyball, read my book and drink my cocktail all at the same time.

I have a lot of experiences which I am going to put here but I am sure that there are many travellers who have parallel stories that they would like to publish.
